Need assistance with your package?
The NDIA has stated that there will be “no disadvantage” for people with a disability when transferring to the NDIS.
This relates to the overall outcome for the person, not the amount of support or funding they will receive. For example, purchasing a piece of equipment might mean that a person may not require as much assistance, and therefore, would not need the same amount of funding for a support worker. The amount of funding may be the same, less or more than you currently receive.
We charge the rates set out in the NDIS Price Schedule for our services. These can be found on the NDIS website or our planners will discuss this with you during the registration process. If you wish, we can assist you to plan how best to use your funding to achieve your goals.
It’s good to start talking to your family, friends and carers about what your goals might look like now and into the future. Perhaps you want to work or study, or just get out a bit more. They don’t need to big or complicated goals, just things that will improve your life! Consider what supports you may need on a day to day basis.
The legislation that established the NDIS talks about the scheme providing reasonable and necessary supports. Those supports will:
The NDIS will replace State Disability Services funding, Helping Children with Autism (HCWA), and Better Start (BS). Once you have be provided with an NDIS plan, your HCWA and Better Start funding will end and you can commence using your NDIS funding.
Yes. Disability Services (DS)/HCWA/BS will cease to exist once the NDIS is rolled out in your area.
Montrose Therapy and Respite Services is preparing for the changes for our organisation and clients. Montrose currently receives block funding from the Queensland Government to provide services. As people receive their individual NDIS funding, block funding will be gradually withdrawn until organisations will totally rely on income from people purchasing their services from them.
Your plan will be reviewed every 12 months, but you can talk to the NDIS before then if your circumstances or needs change if you finish school or there is a major change in your needs.
If you already receive supports from a State or Territory government disability program, there are agreements in place which may mean you qualify to directly enter the Scheme. If this is the case, you will be contacted by an NDIA representative when it is time to transition to the Scheme and develop your first plan.
Your existing supports and services will continue until you have an NDIS plan.
